In Houston, a lawsuit has been filed against The Village at Gleannloch Farms, a retirement community located at Champions Forest Drive and Spring Cypress Road, after the death of a senior citizen allegedly linked to medical malpractice. The widow of Gene Phillips claims that inadequate medical care at the facility led to her husband’s death.
The case, lodged in Harris County district court, accuses The Village at Gleannloch Farms and its medical contractor, Trumen Physicians and Associates, of failing to identify a serious pressure injury on Phillips’ leg, which later became infected. This oversight is alleged to have culminated in his premature passing.
The lawsuit asserts that the retirement community demonstrated medical negligence and aims to secure damages related to Phillips’ death. According to the allegations, the staff members were not sufficiently trained and the facility was inadequately staffed, which contributed to a failure to detect, diagnose, and treat a stage four sacral decubitus ulcer that ultimately resulted in Phillips’ death.
