The Houston area, like the rest of the United States, has thousands of military veterans as residents. Many of these veterans use VA hospitals but many of these hospitals are understaffed. This can lead to wrongful death along with other serious injuries.
All across the United States veterans are having problems getting in to see the doctor. Texas has some of the worst wait times for VA clinics with some clinics having an over 85-day wait time. The VA has become incredibly understaffed. There is also a lack of medical vouchers. The long waiting time, lack of vouchers and understaffing of these VA facilities has led to veterans potentially dying because they cannot get in to be seen for their medical condition.
VA medical centers that are understaffed can cause major problems for a veteran’s health concerns. Delays in evaluations and follow-up care for veterans can cause a worsened medical condition or even death. Veterans deserve better than the care many of them currently receive in the VA health system. If a family believes their loved one suffered because of a doctor mistake or an undiagnosed medical condition, they may want to speak with a legal professional skilled in medical malpractice. An attorney has the experience to review the medical records, consult with medical experts and get answers for families as to what happened to their loved one. Compensation may be available for medical expenses, pain and suffering and other damages.
No one should have to endure substandard medical care. Those who have received such care may have legal rights to hold these medical providers accountable.
